Weekend Getaway

We had a great long weekend in Santa Barbara, hanging out with our LA-based friends and pretending for 3 days that we were in a permanent state of vacation (alas, the work week is rapidly descending upon us). Before the memories fade too fast, I wanted to capture a few of our favorite moments. And, if a picture's worth a 1,000 words, then hopefully posting a handful here will make up for the brevity of this entry. :-)

Here's our favorite strawberry-eater enjoying the Santa Barbara farmers market...as you can see, someone perhaps abused the "free sample" policy a bit.

The whole family enjoyed our walk along the beach...although I must say we discovered on the way home that 24+ lbs of child is pretty heavy when she decides she is too tired to walk.

And finally just one of the many, many smiles we saw this weekend...I can't believe it's already over!

18-month Check-Up

We are way, way behind in posting, so I'm a bit delayed in writing up the numbers from Sonia's recent check-up at the doctor. She went in for her 18-month visit on May 14th, complete with vaccinations and measurements. For the record, here were her stats:

• Height: 33.25 inches (89%!)
• Weight: 24 lbs 4.5 ounces (49%)
• Head Circumference: 47.6 cm (78%)

Sameer is convinced the height measurement was less than accurate, so perhaps it is too soon to start planning for basketball scholarships.
