Last weekend we celebrated a bit early with a party at MyGym with all of Sonia's friends (or maybe the children of Mommy & Daddy's friends, but for now those are the same). It was a blast to see all of the little kids run around, and there were no tears in contrast to her 1st birthday. Maybe by the time she turns three she'll actually enjoy having people sing "Happy Birthday" to her and maybe even try a cupcake.
Here's the birthday girl in the ball pit at MyGym

An example of some of the mayhem (Sonia is somewhere in the middle of all of this)

Daddy "helps" blow out the candle

Here she is the morning of her actual birthday with her Elmo card from Dada and Bebe (she definitely didn't have bed head like this a year ago!)

On her actual birthday, she received some new toys, including a Percy and a James train to go with the Thomas she already owned (if you don't recognize those names, you don't have kids). As you can see from the video below, she is a marketer's dream having memorized each of their names, which is her absolute favorite thing to say these days. [Note: Sonia was supposed to be taking a bath, but wanted to keep playing, which is the reason for her diaper-only minimalist wardrobe in this video...I'm sure she'll thank me for this one when she's 13.]
